Tooth extraction is a dental procedure in which a tooth is completely removed from its socket in the
jawbone. This treatment is generally considered a last resort when the tooth cannot be saved by other
means, such as dental fillings, crowns, or root canal treatment. At

There are various circumstances under which tooth extraction may be necessary:
- Severe Tooth Decay: When a tooth is so extensively decayed that it can't be restored, extraction may be the only option to prevent infection and alleviate pain.
- Gum Disease: Advanced periodontal disease may weaken the supporting tissues around a tooth, making extraction necessary to maintain overall oral health.
- Impacted Teeth: Wisdom teeth, or third molars, often become impacted (unable to grow in properly due to lack of space or improper angle) and may need to be removed to prevent pain and other complications.
- Overcrowding: Sometimes, teeth may need to be removed to make room for proper alignment, particularly in orthodontic cases.
- Broken or Cracked Tooth: If a tooth is broken or cracked in such a way that it cannot be repaired, extraction may be the most practical solution.
- Pre-Prosthetic Requirements: Some patients may require tooth extraction to prepare for dental prosthetics like dentures or dental implants.
