Using MediSave for Dental Treatments
Good oral health matters for your overall well-being, yet the cost of dental treatment can be a worry.
MediSave helps by letting you use your savings to cover part of eligible dental expenses.
MediSave is a national savings scheme that lets individuals set aside part of their income for approved
medical needs, including hospital stays, day surgeries, and selected outpatient treatments for
themselves or their dependants. You can find the full list of claimable expenses on the Ministry of Health website.
For some dental procedures, such as dental implants, MediSave can be used to offset up to $1,120 per
implant, plus day surgery charges. For example, if an implant costs $3,700, MediSave can cover roughly one-third of the amount.
To use MediSave benefits, please visit a MediSave accredited dental clinic. True Dental Studio is accredited under the MediSave and Flexi-MediSave schemes, so patients can claim for approved treatments such as dental implants and surgical procedures, as well as root canal treatment and permanent crowns for patients aged 60 and above.
Who Can Use MediSave?
MediSave is a national medical savings scheme available to all Singapore citizens and Permanent
Residents. It can be used to offset healthcare expenses. If there are insufficient funds in the account,
your family member’s account can even be utilised to pay for the expense on your behalf.

What’s Covered Under MediSave-Eligible Dental Treatments
Generally, the MediSave scheme allows treatment that involves surgery and is performed due to medical
reasons, and does not cover non-surgical dental services or cosmetic procedures.
Since 1 June 2026, Flexi-MediSave is an exception for patients aged 60 and above, covering root canal
treatment and permanent crowns at CHAS clinics.

*The amount claimable for wisdom tooth surgery is set by MOH according to how many teeth are removed
and whether the tooth needs to be sectioned. Surgery involving soft tissue only is not claimable.
The figures above are the limits for the operation itself. Day surgery charges may be claimed on top
where applicable and approved. For a single wisdom tooth that needs to be sectioned, that means up to
$1,950 in total ($1,120 for the operation plus up to $830 in day surgery charges), and the same applies
to a single dental implant placed in one session.

How to Claim MediSave During Your Visit
If you possess a CHAS/PG/MG card, you may also be eligible for a subsidised rate on non-surgical dental
services.

3-step process at our clinic.
1. Consultation
Book an appointment at the clinic for one of our doctors to assess your condition. During the consultation, you will be informed about the eligibility of the treatment for MediSave claims. If deemed eligible, you will co-pay the dental expense after your MediSave claims.
2. Verification
Bring a copy of your NRIC and your family member's NRIC if you are utilizing their account for our clinic to verify your identity. You will be asked to complete the Medical Claims Authorisation Form (MCAF) to claim from the MediSave account.
3. Billing
Once the payment has been processed, you will receive a MediSave Claims Statement notifying you of the deduction.
Updates to CHAS Subsidies (from October 2025)
To make dental care more affordable, the Ministry of Health has enhanced CHAS subsidies:
- CHAS Orange cardholders are now covered for preventive dental treatments such as consultation, scaling, and polishing.
- Higher subsidy caps apply to selected restorative treatments (e.g., root canals, crowns, dentures) for Pioneer Generation, Merdeka Generation, CHAS Blue, and Orange cardholders.
- Fee benchmarks are displayed at CHAS clinics to help patients understand typical charge ranges before subsidy.
Since 1 June 2026, patients aged 60 and above can use Flexi-MediSave
for root canal treatments and permanent crowns at CHAS clinics. This means you can enjoy CHAS subsidies
first, and then use MediSave to further offset your bill.
Flexi-MediSave can be paid from your own MediSave, or your spouse's if they are also aged 60 or above.
